I think I'm going to kick caffeine.
I don't drink a lot of it, but I feel like I need to have it. And I don't like that feeling.
Coffee acts like battery acid on my stomach and sodas irritate an already sensitive bladder. But deep down in places I don't like to acknowledge, I feel like there might be a low grade dependency going on. That's really what this is all about.
Also, as a massage therapist, I am well aware of what role caffeine plays in chronic muscle tension. So, now I can practice what I preach.
Let's see how this goes.

Rotsa Ruck, Sweetie! I mean that...something I have never even considered quitting. I guess anything is possible, I know there'd be withdrawal, but what's new about that-grin!
I'm sure you will ask HP to help on this one! (If I don't have a cuppa before going to bed, I'd have trouble getting to sleep. True!
Prayers
PEACE!

Phew - the last big elephant in the room.
Yeah, I have to admit I have become a bit of a coffee lover since going sober.
Don't post stuff like this. (She mutters, as she shields her bag of Starbucks Sumatran from view.)
I can quit it any time I want...
lmao
I switched over to chai at night. Then somebody tells me, duh, tea has caffeine. And there I was, my feelings of sainthood smashed.
Good wishes on being free.
eeeeeck! good luck! i'm not quite ready for this though...
Ha! That is awesome. Good for you. Caffeine will the the last "addiction" to die for me. :) One day at a time.
I will now go and look up caffeine and chronic muscle tension...damn it.
Good luck with that! DOes that mean you will be changing the name of your blog too? No more Jilli Java? Love the bike, you go girl!
I gave up caffeinated sodas and coffee years ago. I don't miss it. Maybe a headache at first was what I noticed and then it was okay. Good luck with it.
I think of all my addictions caffeine would be the absolute hardest to kick. I quit smoking years ago, about 16 years ago in fact, and I don't remember it being that hard. but a day without coffee is torture. I hope you have an easy time of it.
Ha,Ha,Ha, reading the comments made me realize I am not alone in my love for coffee. My love for and addiction to it goes back to my teen years, when I started drinking it to warm the bones in the winter, then accelerated with military service and recovery, yup long time addiction. I don't drink caffeinated soda's or soda's in general due to the sugar content. I have cut back on coffee though due to the stomach troubles, oh pain the great motivator.
Didn't know about how it effects muscle tension, honestly something I need to consider:(
Good luck!!!
P.s. love the new bike, happy riding to you!
OH Nooooooo! not only do you point out why YOU are trying to cut the coffee, but... chronic muscle tension too???? My husband was trained and schooled as a chiropractor, I understand the screaming difference between lifestyle we're encouraged to live through our education and understanding of science and experience and that want that comes without consideration of those things. Now instead of alcohol and medications/drugs it's by times coffee, chocolate, sugar, diet coke. None of it "good for me" in any way, but I can even use books to live vicariously in a life not my own and to wrest comfort and satisfaction out of another world.
I felt that "chronic muscle tension" comment right in my shoulder :oP :)
I'm laughing at the comments as I shield my cuppa. I will be praying for you xoxoxox
I've quit caffeine a couple times and it went well as long as I got off of it gradually. Otherwise, I get an awful headache for a couple days.
Congratulations, but now I'm gonna have to think through my own caffeine addiction. Damn.
